The environment

Although the Vila Casa Pedro is very quietly situated, you will find all amenities within a short distance. We have only summarized a few suggestions here, because we think that you will create your holiday experience through your own experiences!

Since most of our guests arrive by plane, a rental car is recommended. Public transport is available but for full independence we suggest having your own transport. You can find rental cars of all price ranges at the airport in Faro, but you can also rent cars in nearby Lagos.
Rental cars are not expensive in Portugal and just outside the high season you will be able to rent a car very cheaply.

Shopping: In Raposeira you will find a small Spar shop. It is open daily and has most things for your daily needs. In Vila do Bispo (3,5 KM) you will find a fantastic market hall with fresh fish daily (except Mondays) fresh fruit & vegetables and a an organic stall run by Heike. It also has the Zig Zag cafe at the market, a popular meeting place, and an excellent butcher. There are also two large supermarkets nearby, Lidl in Vila do Bispo and Intermarche 7 kms away in Budens which also sells international newspapers and magazines.
Raposeira, just a walk away, has two cafe bars that serve traditional Portuguese food in addition to ‘Pizza Point’ a very good pizzeria.

In Vila do Bispo there are many restaurants for all price ranges. If you want recommendations please just ask us when you arrive.
In general, the Costa Vincentina region offers many possibilities for leisure activities. Information material is available for you in the house.
If you would like to go out by boat to fish, ask us. The owner of Vila Casa Pedro owns a boat and for a fee he will gladly take you out to sea from Lagos.
From Lagos you also have the possibility to book dolphin tours etc..
Lagos is a must to visit. The small city has a very pretty pedestrian zone with many shops, Restaurants, delightful buildings and historical places of interest.

In general: Please don’t be afraid of the language barrier! In the Algarve pretty much everybody speaks English. Welcome to Portugal!
If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us. We have an excellent network and try to make your holiday with us a unique experience. We hope that we have awakened your “desire to discover” and look forward to getting to know you personally.
